Wikipedia - Slovak Basketball League

The Slovenská Basketbalová Liga (SBL) (English: Slovak Basketball League) is the highest level tier league of men's professional club basketball in Slovakia. The league was founded in 1993. MBK Pezinok is the league's most successful team, having won a league record 9 championships. Before 2014, the league was named the Extraliga.

Slovakia - Extraliga er den øverste basketballligaen for menn i Slovakia. Ligaen ble etablert i 1993 og består av 12 lag.

Ligaen spilles i et regulært seriespill der alle lagene møter hverandre to ganger, hjemme og borte. De åtte beste lagene etter seriespillet går videre til sluttspillet, mens de to nederste lagene rykker ned til 1. liga.

Sluttspillet spilles i et cupformat der lagene møter hverandre i best-av-fem-serier. Vinneren av sluttspillet krones som slovakisk mester.

De mest suksessrike lagene i ligaens historie er BK Inter Bratislava og BK Spišská Nová Ves, som begge har vunnet flere mesterskap.
