The Southern League is an amateur status league competition run by Southern Football and Mainland Football for Association football clubs located in the South Island of New Zealand. It is at the second level of New Zealand Football behind the national association based New Zealand National League, and the highest level of club based football available to teams within the region.

Den sørlige ligaen er den øverste divisjonen i New Zealand-fotballen utenfor de to øverste divisjonene, Northern League og Central League. Ligaen ble etablert i 1970, og det konkurreres mellom lag fra Otago, Southland og South Canterbury. Ligaen har 10 lag som spiller en dobbel serie med hjemmekamper og bortekamper, med totalt 18 kamper per lag. De tre beste lagene går videre til nasjonale mesterskapsfinale, som avgjør vinneren av Chatham Cup. Nåværende mester er Queenstown Rovers AFC.
